The 2021 Texas Hill Country Neighborly red blend is our first of hopefully many collaboration blends that combine fruit from our estate vineyard at Sandy Road Vineyards and fruit from the vineyard of one of our wine friends here in the Texas Hill Country. The Texas wine industry is full of wonderful, passionate and caring people and we have been so lucky to have become friends with many. This blend is a way for us to share that friendship and to create a unique expression of the Texas Hill Country.
Our goal each year is to partner with a different vineyard in the Texas Hill Country and combine some fruit from their vineyard and some fruit from our vineyard at our Sandy Road Vineyard Estate to create a 100% Texas Hill Country blend of multiple vineyards.
We are excited to announce that our inaugural collaboration blend is with our good friends Chris and Tony from the amazing William Chris Vineyards here in Hye, TX. Thank you guys for your partnership and for continuing to raise the bar on Texas wine!
This 2021 Texas Hill Country Neighborly is a full-bodied red wine with bold flavors and aromas. It has a black cherry, licorice nose, with spice and black pepper notes, big tannins and minerality, and a smokey finish.
The wine's big tannins and minerality make it a perfect pairing for a Texas sized ribeye steak. The tannins will help to cut through the richness of the steak, and the minerality will complement the flavors of the meat.
