THE VINEYARD
We believe that the best fertilizer is a farmer’s shadow. We are constantly in the vineyard, working the vines and striving to create the perfect balance for our wines. Everything is hand grown, hand pruned, and hand harvested to ensure the highest quality wines.
Sandy Roads Vineyards is 16 acres of grapevines nestled on our family's 100 acre farm. We have 8 blocks of grape varietals including Tempranillo, Mencia, Prieto Picudo, Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Marselan.

Southern Rhone, Italy and Spain
The Southern Mediterranean is the perfect comparison to our Texas Hill Country climate. Instead of focusing on grapes that can only grow well in California, we believe in growing wines that love their place. We focus on grapes that are well suited for the hot and sunny Texas weather. They soak up the sun and transform it into deliciousness in the glass.

Rocky Limestone Hillside, Clay & Sand
The vineyard is planted down a slight eastwardly facing hillside that provides great drainage and complex soils. At the top of the hill there are shallow soils and rocky limestone that transitions down the hill into clay and then sand.
