Sandy Road Vineyard
The proof begins in the vineyard

Place matters.

Our 22-acre estate vineyard surrounds the tasting room, where our family farms for balance, resilience, and a clear expression of place. The hillside changes from sandy loam through red clay to white, chalky limestone, and that variation follows the fruit into the cellar.

Our direction is simple: remain 100% Texas Grown, always, while working toward a portfolio that is 100% Estate Grown.

We do not ask you to take Texas wine on faith. We show you the land, explain where every bottle began and how it was farmed, and let the wine speak for itself.

Why the wine tastes like here

Your first sip may surprise you. The difference starts in the vineyard.

Great wine is the accumulation of choices made in the vineyard, one season at a time. These are the stories behind what you taste.

Three soils, one slope
The hillside

Three soils, one slope

Sand · Clay · Limestone

Walk from the lower rows to the top of the hill and the ground changes underfoot, giving each block a different relationship with water, heat, and vine vigor.

Mencia Grapes
The farming

Attention is our most important fertilizer.

Sustainable · Hand harvested

Organic compost, compost teas, reduced crop loads, green drop, hand harvesting and field sorting puts thoughtful work ahead of shortcuts.

Small batch hand crafted wines
The cellar

Restraint that lets the place speak.

Grown for this climate

Mediterranean varieties, careful farming, and hands-on winemaking carry the energy of the Texas Hill Country from vine to bottle.

Always 100% Texas grown. Handcrafted in small lots so each bottle can carry the season, the hillside, and the ambition of Texas wine to your table.

Wine and food are better together.
A reason to stay awhile

Wine and food are better together.

Our kitchen serves a full lunch every open day, with seasonal dishes created to sit naturally beside our wines. Food, story, and conversation give each bottle more context without turning the afternoon into a lecture. Four times each year, Chef Andy builds a custom multi-course menu for an intimate Winemaker Dinner, paired course by course from the cellar.

Come for a tasting. Stay for lunch. Return for the dinners that only happen once.

“Sandy Road delivers exactly what you come to Fredericksburg for—gorgeous grounds, genuinely friendly staff, and wine that makes you feel like you’ve made excellent life choices. The treetop tasting is the standout: a unique, elevated experience that sets this place apart from the usual 290 lineup. This spot is a must-stop.”
